One of the most unique geological phenomenons in the Southwest is the Blue Hole. This clear blue bell shaped pool delivers up to 3,000 gallons of water per minute at a constant 64 degree temperature. It's thermally heated waters come from the same system that flows in Carlsbad Caverns. The Blue Hole is 81 feet deep, 60 feet in diameter at the surface, and widens to 130 feet in diameter at the bottom.
The Blue Hole's constant temperature, amazing clarity and visibility up to 80 feet make it a favorite for scuba divers, photographers, and sightseers. Scuba diving is enjoyed by novice and expert divers throughout the year.
