Ilfeld Warehouse

Part of Santa Rosa’s economic development strategy is to further differentiate itself by developing the historic downtown district, especially the area around the Courthouse Square. New construction is proceeding, and a new City Hall was just completed.

Santa Rosa is taking advantage of the State and federal MainStreet Program that has successfully provided development strategy for small towns across the country. One of the strategic centerpieces of downtown growth will be the development of the Ilfeld-Johnson Building that was purchased by the City.

The Ilfeld-Johnson Building was constructed in 1901 as a wool warehouse for the railroad. It is an attractive stone structure with 9,000 square feet on the main floor, a lower level, a clear story and high rafters. It has been vacant for many years.
